“Amirul Mominin Sheikh Hibatullah Akhunzada himself had proposed Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund as Raees-e-Jamhoor, or Raees-ul-Wazara or the new head of state of Afghanistan. Mulla Bardar Akhund and Mulla Abdus Salam will be his deputies. ” The Taliban leader told The News.
The report said that three Taliban leaders had confirmed the nomination of Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund. Mulla Mohammad Hassan Akhund is currently the head of the Taliban organization, Rehbari Shura or the head of the leadership council. “He has been the head of the Rehbari Shura for 20 years. They are religious leaders rather than military backgrounds. He is best known for his character and devotion, “said Business Standard, citing Taliban leaders.
He said Mulla Hassan lived close to Sheikh Hibatullah Akhunzada for 20 years. According to the Taliban, Mullah Hassan held key positions during his previous government in Afghanistan. When Mulla Mohammad Rabbani was the caretaker Prime Minister, he was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and later became the Deputy Prime Minister. The Taliban also said that another senior Taliban leader, Sirajuddin Haqqani, the head of the Haqqani network, had been proposed as federal interior minister, the report said. He has been given the authority to name the governors for the eastern provinces.
Similarly, Mullah Yaqub, the son of Taliban founder Mullah Mohammad Omar, has been recognized as Afghanistan’s defense minister. Mulla Yakub was a student of Sheikh Hibatullah Akhunzada in his madrasa.
According to Taliban sources, Sheikh Hibatullah Akhunzada Mulla Yakub has always been respected by his father and Yakub for his dedication to his work. It was Sheikh Habibullah who appointed Mulla Yakub as the Commander-in-Chief of his armed forces and later selected him as the head of a powerful military commission, the report said.
Mulla Yakub personally led the recent armed campaign and began to occupy rural areas, including the first districts. It then decided to take over the provinces across the country. People close to Mullah Yakub told The News that he gets little sleep during the operation and is dependent on medication.
Also, according to Taliban sources, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid was earlier tasked with appointing a new information minister, but it has been decided to appoint him as spokesman for state chief Mullah Hassan Akhund. Also, Mulla Amir Khan Muttaki was nominated as the new Foreign Minister.
