Sardardham Bhavan inaugurated on the occasion of 100th death anniversary of freedom fighter Subrahmanya Bharti

Prime Minister Modi said that Swami Vivekananda had put India’s human values before the world at the World Parliament held in Chicago in 1893.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the state-of-the-art Sardardham Bhavan in Ahmedabad, Gujarat through video conferencing and laid the foundation stone of a girls’ school under Sardardham Phase-2. The Prime Minister announced the establishment of a bench in the name of Subrahmanya Bharti at the Benaras Hindu University. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that a Subrahmanya Bharati Peetha would be set up in the Faculty of Arts, Benaras Hindu University for Tamil studies, which would inspire students and research scholars. Announcing this on the occasion of the 100th death anniversary of the country’s great scholar, thinker and freedom fighter Subrahmanya Bharti, Narendra Modi said that one of the great visions of Sardar Sahib is reflected in the Tamil poet Subrahmanya Bharati’s vision.
Referring to the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the Prime Minister (PM Modi) said that the Kheda Satyagraha under the leadership of Sardar Patel was a symbol of unity of the peasants, youth and the poor, who were forced to bow to the British government. He said that even today, on Sardar Patel’s land in Gujarat, the world’s tallest Statue of Unity stands before us as a symbol of the same inspiration and energy.
The Prime Minister said that the government is trying to bring all those elements of the society forward. He said that on the one hand, work is being done for the rights of Dalits and backward classes, and on the other hand, 10 per cent reservation has been made for the economically backward people.
