BRICS Cooperates with New Development Bank, Contingency Reserves and Energy Research
13th BRICS Summit –
Prime Minister Modi is the chairman of the BRICS summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, “BRICS has achieved a lot in the last one and a half decades and is proving to be an effective tool for emerging economies in the world.” In his presidential address at this year’s 13th BRICS Summit, On 09, Modi said in a virtual form, “This platform has also come in handy to focus on the priorities of developing countries.”

‘BRICS @ 15: Intra-BRICS cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus
BRICS has launched a number of strong institutions such as the New Development Bank, contingency reserves and energy research cooperation. This information was given by Modi. He further said, “It must be ensured that BRICS will become more productive in the next 15 years. At the same time, the theme that India has chosen for its leadership is “BRICS 15 – Sustainability, Integration and Inter-BRICS Cooperation for Consensus.”
The Prime Minister said that recently the 1st BRICS Digital Health Conference was held in which it was an innovative step to improve health facilities with the help of technology. He also said that the water resources ministers of the five member countries would meet for the first time in BRICS format in November. Modi said the BRICS counter-terrorism action plan had recently been adopted and space agencies of member countries were also working together in remote sensing satellite constellations.
He said better cooperation between the customs departments of the member nations would facilitate inter-BRICS trade. Thanking all the members, Modi said that India has received full support from all members during the BRICS presidency.
Countries attending the 13th BRICS Summit –
The meeting is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro. BRICS brings together the world’s five largest developing countries – representing 41 percent of the world’s population, 24 percent of global GDP and 16 percent of global trade.

He had chaired the Goa Summit in 2016. This year, the Indian presidency of BRICS is on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of BRICS. The conference is expected to focus on the situation in Afghanistan.
