Tamil Nadu, it was decided to celebrate Subramania Bharathi’s death anniversary as Mahakavi Divas.
Subramania Bharathi’s death anniversary is celebrated on September 11. This year 2021 is the 100th anniversary of the poet. His work inspired patriotic awakening. He has also left his mark on Tamil literature.
Indian Young Poet Award –
For the next one year, weekly events will be held at the Indian Memorial House in the state to mark the centenary. In addition, the state government will organize state level poetry competitions for school and college students. A prize of Rs. 1 lakh will be given as “Bharti Yuva Kavi Puraskar”.
The women’s livelihood mission will also be in the name of Indians. This scheme will be implemented by the Rural Development Department. On the occasion of the centenary, the government will bring the book Urthi Wendam. It will contain a collection of his poems and essays. Books will be distributed to 37 lakh school children at a cost of Rs 10 crore
